Last Line Solutions is committed to making lastlinesolutions.com usable by everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control or other assistive technology.

We treat accessibility the same way we treat the rest of our work: as something to be measured rather than asserted. This page sets out what we are aiming for, what we have done, where we still fall short, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.

We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA.

Level AA is the standard referenced by the U.S. Department of Justice in relation to the Americans with Disabilities Act, required under Section 508 for federal procurement, and used as the benchmark in most accessibility legislation internationally.

We do not claim conformance with Level AAA. The W3C itself advises against adopting AAA as a general policy, because several of its criteria cannot be satisfied for all content. We would rather meet AA honestly than claim a level we cannot hold across every page.

In September and October 2026 we carried out a full accessibility review of this website and remediated the issues it found. That work included:

Adding a language attribute so assistive technology reads the page correctly.

Introducing proper page landmarks, so screen reader users can move between navigation, main content and footer.

Adding a skip-to-content link, so keyboard users are not forced through the full navigation on every page.

Writing alternative text for every image on the site, and changing our content system so alternative text is required on any image added in future.

Giving every link and button a meaningful accessible name, and every embedded frame a title.

Correcting heading structure so page outlines are logical.

Adding canonical and page title information to every page, including error pages.

This site is scanned automatically every week against WCAG 2.2 Level AA using third-party accessibility testing software. Results are reviewed and issues are raised with our development partner as they appear.

Automated testing does not catch everything. Roughly a third of accessibility barriers require a person to find them, so automated scanning is a floor rather than a ceiling, and we treat it that way.

We are not claiming this site is perfect, and we would rather say so here than wait for someone to discover it.

At the time of writing, our automated scanning reports no critical or serious issues on reviewed pages. A small number of best-practice items remain outstanding, and some older blog content published before 2021 has not yet been reviewed to the same standard.

We have not commissioned an independent audit by users of assistive technology. Where we have gaps, we would rather hear about them from the people affected than assume they do not exist.
